Trident Award Winners Congratulations to all the award nominees. In 2014 your performances were outstanding and I hope you continue the hard work during 2015. The winners were announced at the Awards evening and I am proud to tell you who they are. Please scroll down to the nominee list. All winners are marked in yellow. Thanks to all the committee members for organising a fantastic awards evening enjoyed by all. Trident Award Nominations For me this is an extremely difficult decision to make. I have many students who are outstanding and didn't make any of the nominations. The students below are the ones who have accumulated the most points throughout the year by going to competitions, attending social events, seminars, demonstrations and most importantly have trained consistently throughout the year. I now have to choose a winner and with so many wonderful students and a very successful year to their credit they have made my decision very hard. I would like to wish them the best of luck and I hope to see them all present at the awards evening. Firstly i would like to say that I am extremely proud of the Trident Taekwon-Do Group and I would like to thank all the students, instructors and parents that made 2013 a fabulous year. We can only build an exciting, successful and worthwhile group if we have an amazing team behind the scenes, and we have. It was a successful year for us at the black belt grading tests were we had seven new 1st degree black belts (Joe Tyldesley - Lily Thompson - Ritvik Rao - Klaudia Sajkiewicz - Albert Hoening Yee - Mohammed Jafar - Lewis Hale), three new 2nd Degrees (Bethany Hodkinson - Alex Hughes - Darren Eden) and three new 3rd degrees (Marc Kennan - Karl Davis - Andy O'Neill). Well done to you all. We won many bronze, silver and gold medals at all the competitions we entered. Two wonderful achievements were Bethany Hodkinson winning bronze in sparring at the ITF European Championships and Izzy Brider winning bronze in sparring at the ITF World Championships. The highlight of the year for me was the 4 students who competed at the ITF European Championships for England. They showed amazing dedication travelling first to the ITF England Trials down in London and then spending most Sundays in the first 3 months of the year travelling to London for England squad training. So well done to Izzy Brider, Romy Mottershead, Bethany Hodkinson and Alex Hughes. Displaying the tenets of Taekwon-Do, supporting the Trident Academy and Clubs, travelling to the events as a competitor, coach or official and getting involved in our social world all adds up and we produce a list of amazing students for the following awards: Most Improved Student of the Year 2013 Nominees and Winner Peewee Cara Loates - Nebi Dervish - Aidan Grant - Aanjaneya Mishra - Imogen Masheter - Warren Koubeh - Edwin Koubeh - Arion Yaghmaee WINNER - AIDAN GRANT Junior Felix Dubicki-Piper - Lewis Hale - Alex Deegan - Anna Reed WINNER - LEWIS HALE Adult Andy O'Neill - Sue Metcalfe - Scott Bambrick WINNER - ANDY O'NEILL Instructor of the Year 2013 Nominees and Winner Nominees Dave McCallum - Darren Eden - Lynette Johnson - Tim Warmingham WINNER - TIM WARMINGHAM Student of the Year 2013 Nominees and Winner Peewee Lily Thompson - Aysin Dervish - Cavan Grant - Joe Tyldesley - Kiyomi Mullings - Aidan Grant - Nebi Dervish WINNER - LILY THOMPSON Junior Izzy Brider - Romy Mottershead - Bethany Hodkinson - Tim Wright - Alex Hughes - Lewis Hale WINNER - IZZY BRIDER Adult Karl Davis - Jeff Brider - Dave McCallum - Lynette Johnson - Phil Mottershead - Marc Kennan - Lorna Eden WINNER - JEFF BRIDER |
