Trident Award Winners

Congratulations to all the award nominees. In 2014 your performances were outstanding and I hope you continue the hard work during 2015.

The winners were announced at the Awards evening and I am proud to tell you who they are. Please scroll down to the nominee list. All winners are marked in yellow.

Thanks to all the committee members for organising a fantastic awards evening enjoyed by all.

Trident Award Nominations

For me this is an extremely difficult decision to make. I have many students who are outstanding and didn't make any of the nominations. The students below are the ones who have accumulated the most points throughout the year by going to competitions, attending social events, seminars, demonstrations and most importantly have trained consistently throughout the year. I now have to choose a winner and with so many wonderful students and a very successful year to their credit they have made my decision very hard. I would like to wish them the best of luck and I hope to see them all present at the awards evening.

Firstly i would like to say that I am extremely proud of the Trident Taekwon-Do Group and I would like to thank all the students, instructors and parents that made 2013 a fabulous year.

We have attended lots of competition winning many medals and making new friends. These were:
WTF Olympic Trials - GMAC Memorial Competition - ITF Celtic Cup, Wales - TKD Competition in Liverpool - T-UK Scottish Championships - PUMA Championships, Swindon - ITF England Trials, London - ITF Squad Training, London - ITF European Chamionshps, Sweden - ITF World Championships, Spain - ITF Dutch Open, ITF International Instructor Course, Sweden - T-UK British Championships, Stratford Upon Avon - Successful TKD World Record, Coventry

We also hosted the following events in Manchester:
T-UK Black Belt Team & Individual Championships - T-UK Instructor Course - T-UK Technical Course - T-UK Black Belt Grading - T-UK Black Belt Grading Seminar - Trident Colour Belt Championships - Trident Colour Belt Gradings & Seminars - Trident Black Belt League - Trident Squad Training - Trident Demo Team Training - Trident Holiday Clubs

And we had a few Social Events:
Ten Pin Bowling Evening - Trident Golf Day - Tough Mudder - Kids Christmas Party

I would like to thank all the instructors and assistant instructors and juniors (who have helped out) for all your hard work and dedication through 2013. We can only build an exciting, successful and worthwhile group if we have an amazing team behind the scenes, and we have.

It was a successful year for us at the black belt grading tests were we had seven new 1st degree black belts (Joe Tyldesley - Lily Thompson - Ritvik Rao - Klaudia Sajkiewicz - Albert Hoening Yee - Mohammed Jafar - Lewis Hale), three new 2nd Degrees (Bethany Hodkinson - Alex Hughes - Darren Eden) and three new 3rd degrees (Marc Kennan - Karl Davis - Andy O'Neill). Well done to you all.

We won many bronze, silver and gold medals at all the competitions we entered. Two wonderful achievements were Bethany Hodkinson winning bronze in sparring at the ITF European Championships and Izzy Brider winning bronze in sparring at the ITF World Championships. The highlight of the year for me was the 4 students who competed at the ITF European Championships for England. They showed amazing dedication travelling first to the ITF England Trials down in London and then spending most Sundays in the first 3 months of the year travelling to London for England squad training. So well done to Izzy Brider, Romy Mottershead, Bethany Hodkinson and Alex Hughes.

Displaying the tenets of Taekwon-Do, supporting the Trident Academy and Clubs, travelling to the events as a competitor, coach or official and getting involved in our social world all adds up and we produce a list of amazing students for the following awards:
