We went to this competition with a small team of 5 competitors, 2 coaches and 1 official. It was the first competition of the year for most of the team so we had low expectations on winning medals. I am very happy to say that I was very happy with the results on the day. The competition was very strong and the categories were a good size. To reach the medal rounds you had to win at least to rounds. Here are the team members and results: Coaches: James Miley Phil Mottershead Official: Jeff Brider Competitors Izzy Brider Romy Mottershead Tim Wright Alex Hughes Lewis Hale Results: Patterns Izzy Brider - Gold Sparring Romy Mottershead - Gold Alex Hughes - Silver Izzy Brider - Silver Tim Wright - Bronze Izzy Brider also won the best junior female of the competition. Lewis Hale was taken part in only his second black belt competition and although he didn't win a medal he fought extremely well winning two fights before going out to the gold medallist. |
